(Senior) Underwriter MENA – 28748

Reporting directly to Regional Manager MENA, you will be responsible for supporting growth of a profitable and diversified portfolio including all underwriting-related functions associated with the administration of a diversified book of new and renewal reinsurance business written in these regions.

Overview

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support the Regional Manager in the design of the overall market as well as the client/LoB strategy within the UW Planning process and its efficient execution
  • Underwrite treaty P&C business in MENA
  • Assess existing portfolio and potential new opportunities while identifying deal risks and its drivers
  • Visit market(s) and clients to maintain, identify and develop the relationships with existing and new client
  • Review and approval of claims with Claims Department in accordance with Claims Guidelines

Qualifications required:

  • University degree (Bachelor’s degree or higher), primarily in the areas of Insurance, Economics, Business, Mathematics/Actuarial Sciences, Law or Natural Sciences or a comparable recognised post graduate degree in Insurance/Reinsurance (ACII or other local equivalent)

Experience required:

  • At least five years of relevant reinsurance underwriting experience (non-life treaty or facultative UW) in the MENA region
  • Familiarity with pricing and/or relevant NatCat models
  • Language skills: Fluency in English
  • Sufficiently fluent in either Arabic or French, both written and spoken, also required.
