The Operational Risk Manager plays a key role in enhancing and maintaining the Company's operational risk management framework while contributing to the Company’s wider enterprise risk management objectives

Overview

Key Duties (Including but not limited to):

  • Maintain and enhance the enterprise risk framework, ensuring risks are effectively identified, assessed, monitored and reported
  • Monitor changes in the regulatory landscape and assess their impact on the Company’s risk management framework
  • Partner with business units to ensure adequate controls are embedded in processes, operating effectively, and deficiencies are remediated
  • Monitor key risk indicators (KRIs) to assess the effectiveness of internal controls and escalate issues as necessary

Qualifications required:

  • Bachelor’s degree in finance, risk management, or a related discipline
  • Possession of, or active pursuit of an internationally recognised qualification [e.g., Certified Internal Auditor (CIA), Certified Public Accountant CPA, Certified Information Systems Auditor (CISA), or Certification in Risk Management Assurance (CRMA)]

Experience required:

  • Minimum of seven 7-10  years of experience in risk management preferably in the (re)insurance sector or financial services sector, show demonstrated leadership in driving risk initiatives across business units in (re)insurance or financial services
  • Experience in solvency and capital management concepts, including familiarity with the Commercial Insurer’s Solvency Self-Assessment (CISSA), Board and committee reporting, and regulatory reporting requirements
  • In-depth knowledge of regulatory requirements for Class 4 reinsurers in Bermuda, including the Insurance Act 1978, the Insurance Code of Conduct, and Solvency II equivalence standards
