They are currently looking for a Cargo Underwriter to be based in their Leeds office on a full-time basis, reporting into the Underwriter & Team Leader.
Underwriting Director – 29135
Being a core part of the UW Leadership team, the UW director role will drive the development of UW strategies, delivery of the group’s strategic plan, oversight of portfolio performance and will ensure robust governance and compliance with regulatory requirements.

Overview
Key Duties (Including but not limited to):
- Form part of the UW leadership team, contributing to strategy development, team leadership and wider department development
- Manage a portfolio of accounts, ensuring these trade to budgeted figures and achieve target profitability
- Take ownership of the UW governance framework, and chair key governance forums
- Develop robust process for oversight of company’s AR, claims and anti-fraud activity
Qualifications required:
- Education to degree level
- Insurance qualifications (CII or IFoA) would be an advantage
Experience required:
- Deep knowledge of the insurance market and it’s competitive dynamics
- Excellent organisational and stakeholder management skills
- Competency across regulatory, risk and compliance dimensions
