Treaty Accountant

Key Duties (include, but are not limited to):

  • Acceptance of treaty level postings and statistical information provided by the reinsurance operations team
  • Approval of payments and matching of cash items against technical balances
  • Posting of accurate technical results to the general ledger
  • Reporting and management of aged debtors / creditors
  • Own the retrocession accounting process at the treaty level


Other Duties:

  • Own the production of internally generated cedent accounts for service arrangements
  • Develop and maintain excellent standards of control and governance across the UK Life branch treaty accounting processes
  • Support the development of group systems and best practice through the specification of business requirements for the systems and processes used for treaty accounting
  • Develop strong working relationships with colleagues across the client’s network

Qualifications required:

  • Qualified Accountant with good knowledge of IFRS
  • HGB, UK GAAP accounting practices
  • Solid working knowledge of SAP
  • Proficient user skills in English (level C1/C2)

Experience required:

  • Life insurance and reinsurance product knowledge of advantage
  • Experience of delivering systems and process changes into an organisation
  • Willingness to travel
