Our client is looking to hire a Senior Manager in General Insurance Actuarial to join their team in their London office on a Permanent basis.

Overview

Key Duties:

  • Build on their current client relationships where they support their clients on reserving, regulatory and other market issues
  • Increase their footprint within the Personal Lines arena – looking to leverage the wider firm connections they have in analytics and data transformation
  • They are looking to strengthen their team at the Senior Manager level and you would be an integral part of the team building out and delivering on their growth strategy
  • Discussing current issues with clients and helping them design and seek out solutions
  • Delivering large complex engagements working with Actuarial and a wide range of other internal firm departments
  • Developing people through effectively supervising, coaching, and mentoring staff

Qualifications required:

  • Be a Qualified actuary with degree-level qualification

Experience required:

  • Have general insurance experience gained from working either in an insurer or at an actuarial consultancy firm
  • Have experience of reserving process transformation and / or finance transformation, either from regulatory change or the need to remove cost from a business
  • Be able to have informed discussions on finance related governance processes including the setting of reserves. This may include having a reserving background
  • Be able to manage to completion the technical delivery and reporting for projects, as well as providing insight to projects in terms of technical content, consultancy skills and client management
  • Be commercially savvy and able to actively engage in discussions on future market trends and what this may mean for their clients
  • Have a broad understanding of how the current environment is leading to transformation of Insurance companies and the practical issues associated with this
  • Be an effective communicator and able to deal with outward-facing client management on projects and on-selling
  • Have an extensive track record of managing projects and individuals
  • Be able to deploy your knowledge across a wide range of internal firm departments (e.g. audit, transactions) as well as across geographies
  • Experience in applying analytical techniques to a range of data to solve problems
  • Visualisation packages including Tableau, Qlikview and Spotfire
  • Knowledge of how new technologies are / may disrupt the finance and actuarial space
  • Experience in developing your own client network, adding new “cold contacts” to your existing bank of warm client contacts from past and current work
