Senior Financial Risk Analyst

The key focus of the role will be in supporting risk management for our client, but will also involve supporting EMEA risk management activities as required.

Key Duties:

  • Support the CRO in the Key Risk Reporting process by identifying, assessing, monitoring and reporting financial/insurance risks
  • Support the CRO in defining and preparing Risk Appetite statements and how these cascades into metrics
  • Support the oversight / challenge of the actuarial and finance teams from a risk perspective, in particular assisting the CRO in reviewing actuarial methodologies and assumptions
  • Support the risk function validation process in relation to actuarial / finance models and results
  • Support the CRO with the ORSA process e.g. in identifying scenarios and sensitivities appropriate to the financial / insurance risk profile of the business, running scenario workshops with the Senior Leadership Team and Board, and running the stress tests using software
  • Support the management of the Risk Incident Reporting process (as these relate to insurance/financial risk) ensuring that appropriate rectification has taken place, root cause analysis has been carried out and actions taken in the Business

Qualifications required:

  • Relevant professional qualification. Support for the IFoA Actuarial exams will be provided if relevant
  • Higher education – degree (or equivalent)

Experience required:

  • Previous experience in Risk, Finance or Actuarial within a financial services company, preferably a Life company
  • Proven experience in the development, production and presentation of Management Information reports
  • Experience in developing Risk reporting within a Life company would be an advantage
  • Proven experience in documenting processes, risk and controls
  • Knowledge of Solvency II
