Our client is looking to hire a Senior Financial Reporting Accountant (Technical) to join their Worchestershire based office on a Permanent basis.

Overview

Key Duties:

  • Provide technical accounting and regulatory reporting support across the team, department and business to contribute to a compliant end to end financial reporting process
  • Monitor the technical accounting and regulatory reporting environment for impacts on the company’s financial reporting
  • Manage technical issues across the department, liaising with key stakeholders such as Group Finance, Finance Technical Committee and External Auditors to bring issues to a timely and satisfactory conclusion
  • Produce high quality papers providing sound analysis and recommendations fit for all levels of stakeholder/governance and implementation plans in respect of:
    • Technical accounting developments
    • Business developments
  • Produce quality departmental updates to Boards on behalf of Life Finance by co-ordinating the relevant inputs, coordinating suppliers and contributing to the review process
  • Co-ordinate the relevant inputs, suppliers and ensuring compliance with appropriate regulations to oversee the narrative reports:
    • Annual Report and Financial Statements
    • Solvency & Financial Condition Report (SFCR)
    • Regular Supervisory Report (RSR)
  • Maintain a strong understanding of the financial dynamics of the business and the interaction of accounting with all financial performance metrics
  • Support the technical accounting needs of business change projects and external developments such as IFRS 17
  • Maintain own professional development to a high standard and provide support to the rest of the team in the continuous development of technical skills
  • Maintain a Financial Reporting calendar and support the management of the team in the delivery of the outputs
  • Contribute to the production of quality analysis and commentary in support of the entity and group reporting
  • Understand and apply the risk management framework at all times, continually reviewing and improving the control environment
  • Co-ordinate KPI, KRI, risk and control reporting across the Financial Reporting team
  • Apply TCF principles throughout all deliverablesQuality technical accounting support to the department and projects
  • Oversee measures in place to ensure the effectiveness of the control environment across the team
  • Co-ordinate and author Committee and Board updates on behalf of Life Finance

Qualifications required:

  • Qualified Accountant

Experience required:

  • Post qualified experience
  • Experience of Life Company Accounting and Reporting
  • A track record of producing sound technical accounting analysis
