Our client is looking to hire a Senior Analyst/Assistant Manager in Financial Reporting to be based in their London office on a Permanent basis.

Markets:

  • Keeps abreast of relevant industry and professional developments and contributes to thought leadership

  • Starts to develop new business from own contacts and collaborative working with Financial Services Group colleagues or others in the wider firm
  • Contributes effectively to developing, launching and exploiting new initiatives and service lines to diversify the business
  • Takes an active part in networking or office marketing events when appropriate, introduces contacts to colleagues and is an ambassador of the firm
  • Demonstrates an understanding of the firm’s products, services and capabilities and contributes to cross selling opportunities
  • Seeks to participate in business development activities and contributes effectively to proposals

Clients:

  • Demonstrates sound industry and technical knowledge and is able to apply this in the context of client assignments
  • Prepares client take on in accordance with the Firm’s methodology

People:

  • Plays an active role in the Actuarial & Risk team, mentoring, coaching and advising team members as appropriate and contributing to positive morale
  • Works collaboratively across all areas within the Financial Services Group to maximise their contribution to the firm and to clients
  • Acts as a role model for senior analysts or analysts and provides constructive upward feedback to more senior colleagues
  • Works in line with the firm’s CLEARR values, of collaboration, leadership, excellence, agility, respect and responsibility
  • Seeks regular feedback and identifies and acts upon learning and development needs in order to develop technical and personal skills
  • Completes a timely appraisal and personal development plan
  • Meets CPE requirements and completes return on time
  • Meets all relevant requirements of Actuarial Profession

Operations and results:

  • Ensures client take-on is completed in accordance with the business’s risk management procedures
  • Takes personal responsibility for delivering client assignments to a high standard, and takes pride in own work
  • Is able to confidently communicate with clients and successfully manages the expectations of colleagues
  • Assists senior member of the team to manage client accounts
  • Keeps managers informed of progress, draws issues to their attention and is able to explain and justify conclusions and recommendations
  • Undertakes high quality analytical work requiring minimal input from senior staff
  • Writes high quality, professionally presented reports, requiring minimal revision from senior staff
  • Is able to provide an effective brief to partners and directors when a manager is unavailable
  • Assists with the preparation of fee estimates, proposals and budgets for client assignments
  • Assists in maximising the recovery of billable time through accurate and timely submission of timesheets
  • Takes proactive steps to keep utilisation high, and refers any identified opportunities to a manager or partner
  • Works efficiently and assists the job manager to collect fees and reduce debtor balances
  • Adheres to the Firm’s risk management policies and is aware of changes in the Firm’s approach to risk management
