Risk Management Actuarial Analyst

The successful candidate will be a key member of the Enterprise Risk Management team. You will support the local Actuarial Function Holders and local CROs. Provide consistent reporting and escalation to the Group Risk & Capital Committee and Audit and Risk Committees of the Group Board and other Group decision makers as required.

Overview

Key Duties:

  • Contribute to effective data and model risk management which aims at ensuring robust model development, implementation and use; effective validation; and sound governance, policies and controls. This includes:
    • Contribute to the development and implementation of model and data governance frameworks, e.g. Model Risk Policy, Data Quality Policy
    • Contribute to evaluation of conceptual soundness, ongoing monitoring and outcomes analysis of actuarial models, including working with senior experts to assess the strength of actuarial assumptions, the risks of mis-estimation and the impact of changes
    • Peer review key models, as used for pricing, transactions (reinsurance, M&A), and risk management
    • As required, co-ordinate and support the validation of risk and capital models, as used for regulatory reporting and support any internal model applications to the regulators
  • Provides reporting to senior stakeholders, in stand-alone reports and as part of BAU reporting
  • Support ad-hoc analysis & investigations as required

Qualifications required:

  • Advanced qualifications, or progress towards same, reflective of a high degree of technical competence (FIA, CERA, ACA or similar)

Experience required:

  • Experience working within Risk Management or an Actuarial function in an international business environment
  • Minimum 3 years in a relevant position with quantitative experience
  • Experience in working across multiple jurisdictions is a plus
  • Familiarity of the approach of prudential supervisors to governance, risk management, the actuarial function and internal control in life insurance
  • Computer literate – PowerPoint, Word, Excel, Access, Visio – R is a plus
