Our client is looking to hire a Pricing Actuary in Reinsurance to join their Dublin office on a Permanent basis.

Overview

Key Duties:

  • Responsible for the pricing of the new reinsurance deals, and ensuring appropriate standards and return thresholds, documentation and required governance
  • Represent the business on pricing and related financial operations in interactions with external clients, parent and affiliated companies
  • Ownership of key reinsurance pricing models including aspects of the underlying methodology and assumptions, ensuring regular engagement with key stakeholders e.g. Head of Actuarial Function, in determining ongoing appropriateness of model and assumptions. Delivery of successful audits and model validations for the same
  • Responsible for ongoing management of in-force reinsurance business through the lifecycle
  • Lead day to day relationship management with internal and external stakeholders including but not limited to Finance, Reporting, Risk, the company etc.
  • Support the Head of Actuarial to design and implement an appropriate actuarial financial control environment for the company in Ireland
  • Provide actuarial support beyond core reinsurance pricing responsibilities where required
  • Work closely with Group-wide reinsurance partners on retroceded business

Qualifications required:

  • Qualified Actuary with at least 2 years’ post-qualification experience
  • Bachelor’s degree or higher with a focus on one or more of actuarial science, finance, or investment

Experience required:

  • Technically strong with an ability to understand and develop complex methodologies and models
  • Strong knowledge of the valuation and solvency capital principles of Solvency II or a similar regime
  • Experience in the pricing, risk management, or asset-liability management of long-term liabilities
  • Experience in using Microsoft Office suite primarily Excel/PowerPoint/Word
  • Strong technical and problem-solving skills with ability to investigate problems and produce practical and workable solutions
  • Strong attention to detail and proven experience in reviewing results
  • Ability to set and manage priorities in a changing work environment is essential
  • Proven experience in building relationships with senior stakeholders
