Exposure Management Analyst


Our London based client is looking to hire an Exposure Mnagement Analyst to join their team on a Permanent basis.

Key Duties:

  • Design and build non-modelled distributions that can be incorporated into the firm’s Internal Model and help inform their view of risk
  • Produce management information and analytical reports for non-treaty lines of business to enable underwriters to monitor and quantify their exposures, in order to manage their portfolios within risk appetite
  • Assist with the maintenance and development of scenarios that provide loss quantification for aggregations of known and emerging risks
  • Assist with defining and setting non-stochastic catastrophe appetites
  • Assist in catastrophe response procedures for non-modelled peril regions
  • Monitor emerging risks and develop tools and controls for these risks as required
  • GIS analysis for non-treaty lines of business
  • Ensure all processes are fully documented and relevant governance documents are up to date

Qualifications required:

  • Educated to degree level in a relevant discipline
  • Relevant professional qualifications such as ACII, CRM, CCRA, or similar

Experience required:

  • Direct experience with catastrophe risk or exposure management
  • Lloyd’s Market experience beneficial, though general insurance experience also welcome
  • Some programming and mapping experience (e.g. VBA, SQL, QGIS)
  • Advanced use of standard word processing, spread sheet and presentation packages
  • Experience in risk modelling and loss quantification
  • Knowledge of the lines of business written by the syndicate
  • Management and presentation of catastrophe risk and exposure management data
