Key Responsibilities:

Portfolio Management:

  • Monitor and review the capture of policy, exposure, and reinsurance information required for aggregation and risk modelling
  • Assist in development and operation of tools and to enhancing existing reporting processes
  • Working closely with Underwriting and Actuarial Functions following Catastrophe events to aid understanding of exposures and loss sources
  • Review and oversee Exposure Management Analysts to monitor aggregate exposures and communicate implications to senior management
  • Assist Risk Management and Actuarial Functions with non-modelled risk reporting, stress and scenario testing and the ORSA
  • Ensure compliance with Lloyd’s Exposure Management guidelines and the company’s Exposure Management Framework
  • Communication with the Lloyd’s Exposure Management team


  • Responsible for the production of all external returns, including Lloyd’s LCM and RDS’
  • Prepare and review internal exposure/aggregations reports
  • Validation and provision of Cat modelling output for use in the Internal Model
  • Assist Risk Management Function with ORSA and stress testing
  • Prepare ad-hoc exposure reports as required by the business
  • Validate modelling results and risk reports produced by external parties

UW support:

  • Support various underwriting teams in Pre bind pricing and portfolio rollups
  • Support property underwriters in interpreting catastrophe modelling output
  • Review and approval of underwriting reports
  • Provide information and assistance as part of the business planning process
  • Prepare, review and sign off outwards RI data submissions


Ideal Characteristics:

  • A very high level of computer literacy, with expert knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, Access and SQL programming
  • Excellent communication skills (both written and oral), as the role involves interaction with underwriting staff, external clients and Senior Management on a daily basis. Competency in producing and conducting formal presentations also required
  • A willingness to extend modelling and insurance knowledge through formal qualifications (e.g. ACII) and attending relevant industry seminars and conferences

Experience required:

  • Significant experience in handling, manipulating and analysing large data sets, as well as an ability to exhibit data in a variety of formats for different purposes/audiences (e.g. Reports, Presentations, Data Sheets, etc.)
  • A minimum of four years relevant industry experience, with significant experience working within the field of Exposure Management, preferably within a Lloyd’s Managing Agency, Broker or Modelling Vendor
  • Expert knowledge and understanding of catastrophe insurance, loss modelling, aggregation and natural hazards, primarily within Property classes
