Exposure Management Analyst


Our client is looking to hire an Exposure Management Analyst to join their London based office on a Permanent basis.

Key Duties:

  • To provide reliable, accurate and efficient support to the business with regard to exposure management information, analytics and reporting
  • Working closely with the Underwriters, Underwriting Assistants to create and maintain accurate information for all Delegated Authorities (Binders)
  • Assisting with the processing of pre-bind analyses for open market risks, where required
  • Working closely with the outsourcing provider in formatting exposure schedules and performing data quality reviews
  • Entering/uploading exposure information to RMS RiskLink
  • Monthly Portfolio roll-up and probabilistic analysis in RMS RiskLink
  • Monthly reporting of modelled results, exposure, and data quality for the portfolios to the Underwriting team, and discussion thereof
  • Supporting the team and the Head of Exposure Management in provision of data for Syndicate-wide reports internally and externally where required
  • Provision of portfolio data (exposures and modelled losses where applicable) in response to actual events
  • Preparation of the Portfolio EDM, RDM and other format data as required for the planning and placement of Outwards Reinsurance
  • Other ad-hoc responsibilities as agreed, such as research and development with regards to modelling techniques for the portfolio or general natural hazards
  • Analysing and reporting on non-modelled perils and portfolios of business

Qualifications required:

  • A Level standard or equivalent
  • Bachelor’s Degree in a relevant subject such as Mathematics, Economics, Geography
  • Progression towards a professional qualification would be an advantage

Experience required:

  • At least 12 months’ experience in an Exposure Management or Cat Modelling team
  • Familiarity with catastrophe modelling techniques and/or portfolio management for direct/insurance business, including Delegated Underwriting, using RMS RiskLink
  • Experience of working with Microsoft SQL and/or Access within a cat modelling context
