Overview

Key Duties:

  • Regulatory reporting in respect of the company, including analysis of results and preparation of regulatory submissions on a quarterly and annual basis
  • The company and Division level Economic Capital reporting and analysis
  • Analysis of ALM output from business units
  • Production and analysis of capital, insurance risk and performance management information
  • Further harmonising and improving reporting processes and controls across the Division, including the implementation of new controls and processes to support the implementation of a new actuarial modelling software development project
  • Direct technical input and expertise to support the Head of Actuarial Reporting (Division) on a range of activities including responding to requests from the Division Risk Management Committee (DRMC), new product development support or other ad hoc requests from Division Management
  • To play a leading role in the co-ordination and consolidation of regulatory and economic capital reporting across the Division including; analysis/review of results, liaising with auditors and preparation of internal and external reporting materials
  • To work with the Heads of Actuarial Reporting in Division and the Business Units on process improvements within the team, with a particular focus on regulatory reporting. This includes system enhancements and changes/improvements to controls. This will include further development of processes and the control framework to support the implementation of new actuarial modelling systems
  • Managing the workflow and personal development of direct reports
  • Ad hoc projects and information requests from Division Management and the Group

Qualifications required:

  • Qualified Actuary

Experience required:

  • Demonstrable understanding of the life insurance (or reinsurance) industry
  • Excellent technical and analytical skills
  • Comfortable with software packages, such as Excel and Word
  • Experience with Actuarial projection software (MoSes, Tyche desirable)
  • Knowledge of Economic Capital, Solvency II and US GAAP
