Overview

Key Responsibilities:

  • Operate CDD in accordance with the company’s CDD Policy and Procedures
  • Help to develop the CDD Policy and Procedures as necessary
  • Determine CDD requirements based on a risk based assessment of type of management/ownership structures geography and area of commerce at issue
  • Analyse and interpret corporate/legal documentation and structures applying intellectual rigor to extract relevant counterparty information
  • Research and consult with colleagues and counterparties; escalate and address unresolved issues
  • Verify counterparty documentation and instigate and undertake additional research to obtain missing information
  • Responsibility for submitting screening requests to paid-for CDD service providers and analysing results. Review any matches to establish validity and, if appropriate, recommend net steps which may include moving to enhanced CDD and wider internal escalation including recommendations on action
  • Partner with the company’s money laundering reporting officers, group compliance and risk functions on escalation and red flags
  • Enter and promptly maintain required records in the company’s batch screening databases. Address and resolve findings and errors and identified during quality review process
  • Partner with the company’s internal legal counsel to provide an appropriate level of information on the company itself in response to incoming CDD requests, adopting ‘house style’ and working to respond with solutions to non-standard requests for CDD in a robust, consistent and professional manner
  • Prepare and Provide input to Management reports
  • Review and complete requests within a tight timeframe
  • Review and complete information refresh requests
  • Follow policies and procedures to assure consistent adherence to requirements
  • Ensure that the rationale for all decisions is documented and accessible
  • Maintain excellent up-to-date CDD records to data room standards, to support management, legal, compliance staff needs and internal and external audit and regulatory requirements
  • Securely store all information in accordance with the requirements of the company’s document retention policies allowing the company to meet data protection obligations
  • Instigate follow-up reviews on certain Counterparties at frequencies determined by the in-house legal/compliance staff
  • Identify and implement process improvements with colleagues
  • Share best practices with teammates across locations
  • Work in team environment across locations
  • Performs other duties in other projects as assigned
  • Participate in periodic reviews of CDD and preparation/support for internal-audits

Qualifications required:

  • Bachelor’s Degree
  • Certification in CDD or AML laws and regulations

Experience required:

  • At least 2 years of experience working in financial industry driven by regulatory requirements
  • At least 1 year of experience working with AML, ABC and/or sanctions for at least 1 years of experience working with CDD
  • Optional: 1 year of experience working in either compliance, risk, legal or audit
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office
