Overview

Key Duties:

  • Identifying and reviewing, in liaison with the business, all regulatory changes that impact on the company’s business activities, to determine the actions necessary to achieve compliance within regulatory timescales. Providing support and interpretation on regulatory rules and guidance, undertaking gap analyses, where appropriate
  • Evaluating the impact of business-led change initiatives, including projects, and provide regulatory advice and input to management to ensure on-going compliance with relevant regulation, legislation, rules and standards
  • Maintaining compliance policies to ensure they remain applicable to evolving regulatory requirements and changes in business practices. Supporting management in the embedding of compliance policies through the delivery of a program of training and education. Helping promote a strong compliance culture across all areas of the business
  • Assisting in the promotion of a strong compliance culture and awareness of all applicable regulatory requirements, with a particular focus on conduct risk
  • Assisting in the investigation of actual or potential breaches of regulations, rules and standards, ensuring fair outcomes for customers are achieved and work closely with management to agree and implement control improvement, where appropriate
  • Maintenance of the compliance team risk register and CRSA process, liaising where necessary with the risk team; providing submissions in line with target dates

  • Excellent communication skills, you will need to be confident in a variety of communication styles and able to provide key support on a consultative basis to key stakeholders
  • The ability to manage a diverse workload and prioritise tasks to meet deadlines
  • Be able to demonstrate personal commitment, acting with integrity and impartially, displaying an open and trustworthy attitude
  • Proven analytical skills; able to analyse data and identify trends

Experience required:

  • Experience of working in a Compliance role within financial services, ideally within a general insurer or intermediary, preferably around 2 – 3 years
