Our client is looking to hire a Catastrophe Risk Analyst in EMEA to join their London based office on a Permanent basis.

Overview

Key Duties:

  • Operation of catastrophe modelling software (RMS, AIR and others)
  • Manipulation of large datasets using SQL and proprietary tools
  • Overviewing the data auditing process ensuring high quality modelling
  • Report preparation and presentation
  • Understanding of financial modelling software
  • Interpretation and communication of model outputs, reviewing drivers of change
  • Synthesis, presentation and explanation of catastrophe model results to clients
  • Developing innovative analytics solutions and service offering to quantify catastrophe risk and support business requirements
  • Client and commercial team engagement

 

Other Skills:

  • Strong Problem Solving skills and keen attention to detail
  • Excellent IT skills, other computer programming skills advantageous (e.g. VBA, R, SQL)
  • Comfortable dealing with clients and brokers, demonstrating good presentation skills
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Ability to work under pressure and ability to multi-task and prioritise project work
  • Ability to process and understand data quickly and creatively
  • Willingness to integrate into a time critical business environment and meet challenging time lines
  • The ability to work both autonomously and in a team. Highly motivated to learn and grow within a market leading broker

Qualifications required:

  • Degree in numerate or hazard related subject, ideally Maths, Statistics or Engineering, Computer Science or relevant scientific subject such as Physics, Seismology, Atmospheric Science, Geo-Sciences

Experience required:

  • Experience in London/global (re)insurance markets would be advantageous
  • Knowledge of at least one vendor model (ideally RMS, AIR) would be advantageous
