Business Change Life Actuarial Trainee


Our client is looking to hire a Business Change Life Actuarial Trainee to join their South West England based office on a Permanent basis.

Key Duties:

  • Under minimal supervision, assist in the implementation of the new IFRS 17 process – testing that systems and processes work as expected, and validating outcomes, including financials
  • Build business plan models to forecast IFRS 17 financial metrics
  • Resolve defects identified during IFRS 17 testing and refine working assumptions
  • Work collaboratively in a technical change team to deliver effective solutions, within project timelines and to required quality, overcoming challenges as they arise
  • Provide professional actuarial support and advice to actuarial management and actuarial business partners including insights into underlying performance and implications for the business
  • Provide thought leadership on activities with a low to moderate level of complexity / diversity and/or contribute to problem solving on activities with a higher level of complexity / diversity
  • Engage in peer reviews of methodology, models and documentation, providing appropriate challenge and suggestion for improvements
  • Make informed actuarial and business recommendations based on professional judgment and experience
  • Develop a culture of continuous improvement that focuses on enhancing the service provided to the stakeholders
  • Create and maintain strong working relationships

Qualifications required:

  • Senior student or Newly Qualified Actuary (or candidate with equivalent expertise)

Experience required:

  • Life assurance reporting experience
