Business Analysis Lead – L&H Actuarial Modelling


Our client is looking to hire a Business Analysis Lead in L&H Actuarial Modelling to join their team in London on a Permanent basis.

Key Roles:

  • Work closely with regional and global stakeholders to understand business requirements for the MoSes model
  • Review and challenge proposed business requirements, steer prioritisation, and recommend pragmatic solutions which meet the needs of their various stakeholders, eventually translating these recommendations into functional specifications
  • Work closely with the MCoE’s Development and Testing teams to ensure efficient collaboration across the entire development process
  • Ensure the MCoE Business Analysis work is conducted in a robust and controlled way, which is in line with the documented MCoE process
  • Continually strive to increase the skills and knowledge of the MCoE Business Analysis team, and to seek constant improvements to the processes and procedures
  • Ensure a clear and deep understanding of MCoE models and the wider systems landscape
  • Coach and work with the regional Actuarial Management teams help them properly define and prioritise requirements
  • Review the final testing results and testing sign-off documentation against the end user acceptance test criterial to ensure a smooth transition when handing over back to the users
  • Lead the handover of the MoSes models back to the business users and provide the necessary user training


Other Skills:

  • Communicate effectively, both written and verbal, with an ability to work and manage stakeholders spread over several locations. Cross cultural experience working with colleagues & stakeholders globally would be advantageous
  • Negotiate effectively and manage conflict including influencing opinions and decisions and successfully dealing with ambiguity in requirements
  • Have excellent organisational and analytical skills with attention to detail, i.e. able to quickly absorb details on business structure, product features and model requirements

Qualifications required:

  • Be a skilled actuary with at least 5+ years of experience working in the life insurance industry. Part qualified / qualified actuary preferred. Exposure to the MoSes or RAFM platform is advantageous

Experience required:

  • Clearly evidence sound knowledge of actuarial reserving practices and theory in the life reinsurance/ insurance industry
